Thoughts

What we think shapes our life.  So why do we, so often,  marinate our minds with negative thoughts about others and ourself?

We see the things our partners did not do versus, all that was completed.  We complain about our kids whining, but forget the spontaneous laugh we shared.  We get angry at ourselves for our impatience, but forget when we helped a stranger.

We do this to protect ourselves.  However, it is not a conscious decision.  Negativity is a reactive device emanating from years of believing we have to protect ourself from others.

We robotically create separation in an effort to shield our hearts from a loss we think we could not tolerate.

The opposite of separation is an openness to others, to the good which life offers.  This feels terrifyingly raw and vulnerable, and wonderfully alive.

In the sea of negativity we perceive protection against a broken heart, but the cost is to live a numb life.  A guarded heart is a an empty heart, but there is another way.

When we choose to awaken, we leave the ocean of fearful negativity, and begin to embrace the beauty of a limitless world of love and kindness.
